Lollywood star Syra Yousuf has had to cope with a phoney Twitter account created in her name that engaged in smear campaigns and criticised Pakistan\’s government institutions, particularly the Pakistan Army.
However, the Federal Investigation Agency\’s (FIA) Cyber Crime Wing has detained the man in charge of this account (CCW).
Media reports claim that the accused, Mian Naeem, is from Kamoke, Gujranwala and that he has been using the actress\’ name on a Twitter account since 2019.
The FIA\’s cyber crime department reportedly looked into the situation and discovered that the phoney account was being run out of the Kamonki neighbourhood of the Gujranwala district.
\”Mian Naeem is in FIA custody and has confessed to the crime after his detention,\” the FIA\’s CCW Department reported.
According to the FIA, such behaviour might result in seven years in prison and hard labour. According to cybercrime legislation, the suspect might receive at least seven years in prison and hard labour.
