Imran Nephew Other Booked For Assaulting Police

WImran Nephew Other Booked For Assaulting Police: Hassaan Niazi, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has been accused by Punjab police of planning an attack on and attempting to steal a gun from a police officer during PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s recent trip to the Lahore High Court.

According to the Complaint, Hassaan Khan Niazi, the nephew of PTI chairman Imran Khan, directed many PTI employees to harm the police officer physically.

Against the complaint of officer Jahanzaib Sohail on six charges, including dacoity, assault, armed rioting, obstructing public servants from performing their duties, and others under sections 395, 353, 148, 149, 109, and 186 of the Pakistan Penal Code, the Race Course police station filed an FIR against five named and fifteen unidentified suspects (PPC).

In the FIR, the victim, Jahanzaib Sohail, claimed that once the rally arrived at Club Chowk, more than a dozen individuals, including Imran, Amir Wazir, and Sajjad Commando, attacked him with clubs and weapons. He claimed that despite showing them his police service card, they ignored him and took his official firearm and other belongings.

The Special Branch policeman said that the incident occurred due to directions from Barrister Hassan Niazi and Ahmad Khan Niazi. In the FIR, he said numerous people shared a video of the incident on social media.

Niazi, the former prime minister’s point of contact for legal matters, refuted the accusations. He said the police’s station house officer had “filed a false FIR against me.”

He claimed that the incident never occurred and that he was in the court during the rally.

The FIR against Niazi was reportedly denounce by the Islamabad High Court Bar Association (IHCBA). Which described it as the “worst example of human rights violation and political victimisation” committed by the temporary Punjab administration and local police.

In connection with the suspected attack on the police officer, police have not yet made any arrests.
