Malala extends support to Black community in Fight for justice
Pakistani Nobel Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai recently took to social media to speak up against the injustice faced by the black community following the killing of George Floyd. Malala Yousafzai extended support to the African-American community in their fight for justice and maintained that injustice could not accept at any cost.
Taking to Twitter, the 22-year-old education advocate affirmed the black community’s fight for justice as violent protests raged in numerous United States cities after a police officer is a charge with the murder of an unarmed African-American man in Minneapolis.
“I stand with the Black community’s fight for justice for Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, and many others before them. We cannot accept injustice at any cost,” Malala wrote on Twitter.
Floyd was a 46-year-old unarmed African-American male. A policeman killed him in Minnesota, Minneapolis, last week. Protests have erupted across the US following his killing.
The activist went onto add, “Let’s go beyond quoting Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Nelson Mandela. The work they led is not over, and those leading the fight today need all of our support.”
The protests have led to larger United states cities, including Atlanta, Los Angeles, & Philadelphia ordering its citizens to remain indoors after thousands took to the streets to protest against the violation.
US President Trump has blamed the extreme left for the violence, including widespread looting & arson in Minneapolis, saying rioters were dishonoring Floyd’s memory.
“We cannot & must not allow a small group of criminals & vandals to wreck our cities and lay waste to our communities,” the president had said.
“My administration will stop mob violence. And we’ll stop it cold,” he had added, accusing the loose-knit militant anti-fascist network Antifa of orchestrating the violence.
She shared details of funds people can donate to in order to support the black community.
