On Monday, the Pakistan Cricket Board announced that three-team players, Haider Ali, Shadab Khan, and Haris Rauf, have tested positive for Covid-19 from their squad of 29 players for the tour of England. “The PCB medical panel is in contact with the three players who have advised moving into self-isolation quickly,” said the PCB.
“The other players and team officials, barring Cliffe Deacon, Waqar Younis, and Shoaib Malik, underwent tests at their respective centers in Karachi, Lahore, and Peshawar on Monday. Their results expected at some time on Tuesday.”
Last week, former captain and all-rounder Shahid Afridi had announced that he had contracted the COVID-19 virus. In May, former Pakistan opener Taufeeq Umar had tested positive and was in self-isolation for more than a week. The only victims from the Pakistan cricket fraternity were of Zafar Sarfraz, a former First-Class cricketer who died in April due to the coronavirus.
