Khattak added, “I want to clarify that I have no intention of affiliating with any other political party, nor have I had any meetings with Jahangir Khan Tareen, dismissing claims of his meeting with Tareen. The current rumours making the rounds in the media about me are untrue and unjustified.

On Thursday in Lahore, Jahangir Khan Tareen formally founded the “Istehkam-e-Pakistan” political party. Imran Ismail, Aleem Khan, and Ali Zaidi, all former PTI leaders, also attended the press conference to announce the launch.
More than 100 former members of the National Assembly and PTI leaders are members of the party.
After hearing rumours that he and Asad Qasier had been taken into custody in Islamabad, Khattak resigned from his party post earlier this month.
