Roger Federer bids emotional farewell to tennis

One of the greatest tennis players of all time, Roger Federer, 41, gave an emotional farewell performance on Friday night. Federer and Rafael Nadal lost a doubles match in front of 17,500 fans at the O2 Arena in London for the Laver Cup.
Frances Tiafoe and Jack Sock of Team World defeated Federer and Nadal, holding the men\’s record with 22, 4-6, 7-6 (2), 11-9.

In his lengthy career, he won 20 major slam tournaments, including eight at Wimbledon, six at the Australian Open, five at the US Open, and one at the French Open.

Along with 103 career singles titles, 310 weeks at the top of the ATP rankings, a Davis Cup victory, and Olympic medals, to name a few.

It was difficult to say goodbye on Friday night at O2 Arena, as a visibly moved Federer left his supporters, teammates, and family in tears.

“I’ve done this thousand of times, but this one feels different. Thank you to everybody who’s coming tonight,”

Federer posted on Twitter prior to his final appearance at the tennis court.
