TikTok Announces 18,000 Scholarships for Students in Pakistan

To increase access to high-quality education, TikTok and edtech startup Edkasa has announced a scholarship program that will award online study grants to 18,000 deserving Scholarships for Students in Pakistan. The initiative builds on the success of their #ExamReady campaign, which was launched last year.

For a first-of-its-kind year-long collaboration, TikTok teamed up with Edkasa and LUMS in September to develop a digital learning initiative to support online education and distant learning for high school students.

Scholarships for Students in Pakistan

Over 500 educational videos covering Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and Mathematics are available online as part of the #ExamReady initiative, which aims to assist millions of Pakistani students. These videos also include study advice and exam-related hacks.

Since their inception, the instructional films have had over 665 million views and about 100 million video submissions from Pakistani students using TikTok.

By collaborating with LUMS, one of Pakistan’s top universities, the two will strengthen their relationship by giving students access to two months of free Edkasa study materials and an exam pack for the grade, board, or exam of their choice.

The Middle East, Turkey, Africa, Pakistan, and South Asia (METAPSA) region of TikTok, according to Farah Tukan, Head of Government Relations & Public Policy: “TikTok is a platform that offers different content across multiple categories, and education remains a crucial vertical for us. To positively influence Pakistan’s next generation, we are please to contribute to the national campaign to promote literacy.

“We are happy to witness the enormous interest and student uptake in the learning content on TikTok,” said Fahad Tanveer, co-founder, and CEO of Edkasa. Pakistan needs this kind of high-quality, original material to compete with the rest of the globe with its young population.
The scholarships will be give out by the standards and regulations established jointly. By Edkasa and LUMS in harmony and cooperation with TikTok, the campaign’s online driver.
