The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has issued a commemorative banknote of Rs. 75 on the 75th anniversary of Pakistan\’s independence. According to the details, the Rs. 75 banknotes will be available for the general public from State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) BSC offices and all commercial bank branches starting 30 October 2022.
Furthermore, the design of the commemorative Rs. 75 banknotes was unveiled on Independence Day (14 August 2022) during a ceremony a the SBP Headquarters in Karachi.
It is pertinent to mention that it is the second commemorative banknote to be issued by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) after issuing the first commemorative note to mark fifty years of independence in the country in 1997.
SBP collaborated with regional artists to create the themes and concepts for the banknote\’s obverse and reverse sides.
The commemorative Rs. 75 banknotes have been designed to pay tribute to the leaders contributing to the creation of Pakistan and create awareness about climate change and its impact on our environment.
Accordingly, the obverse of the banknote is graced with the portraits of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Allama Sir Muhammad Iqbal, Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah, and Sir Syed Ahmed Khan. In contrast, the banknote\’s reverse highlights our national commitment to climate change and its repercussions for Pakistan, which has gained added urgency in light of the unprecedented loss caused by the recent torrential rains and flooding in many parts of Pakistan.
