Nassem Shah tests positive for COVID

The fast bowler, Naseem Shah, tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of the crucial games in the seven-match T20I series against England at home, dealing a severe blow to Pakistan\’s cricket team.

The national pacer will now spend his quarantine period in his hotel room after being released from the hospital by the doctor. However, it is discovered that he is now feeling better. The speedster was recently admitted to the hospital for treatment after developing a high fever, where his Dengue test was also performed. However, it was then discovered that the speedster had a chest infection, which led to additional problems.

It was revealed yesterday that the right-arm pacer has pneumonia, which may prevent him from playing in the remaining matches of the current series and competing in the upcoming tri-nation series in New Zealand and the T20 World Cup Australia. \”Naseem Shah\’s participation in the future matches and departure to New Zealand with the squad will be decided after seeing his medical reports,\” a cricket board official said.

The management decided that Naseem should recuperate ahead of the tri-nation series in New Zealand and the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia; therefore, he has only participated in one of the four games. In the just-finished Asia Cup 2022 in the UAE, Naseem Shah made his T20I debut. He put up an amazing bowling performance there, capturing seven wickets in five games with an economy rate of 7.66.
