Twitter suspends PM’s official Arabic-language Twitter account

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s Arabic Twitter account has been suspend. The prime minister’s digital media focal person, Abu Bakar Omar, told the BBC that steps were take to reinstate the account.

Regarding the reason for the suspension. The Prime Minister’s focal person say that if the account was create in the Prime Minister’s name. Twitter wants to ensure that it is run from the Prime Minister’s office. Account maintenance measures are underway. A photo ID is sent to Twitter, after which the account will restore.
