Punjab Announces New Winter School Timings 2025 to Protect Students from Cold

As winter approaches, the Punjab government has officially decided to change school timings across the province to protect students from the early morning cold.

Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat shared the latest update on social media, confirming that classes will start later in the morning to provide relief during the chilly months.

Under the revised schedule, schools will open at 8:45 a.m. and close at 1:30 p.m., ensuring a more comfortable routine for both students and teachers. The minister clarified that these winter school timings are temporary and will remain effective throughout the season.

Although the official notification from the Punjab School Education Department is yet to be issued, authorities have assured that the circular will be released soon. Once announced, all public and private schools in Punjab will be required to follow the new timings without delay.

Parents have welcomed the government’s move, saying it will help children avoid the harsh morning cold during school commutes. Teachers have also expressed satisfaction, noting that the updated schedule will likely improve attendance and punctuality during foggy mornings.
