Winter Vacations 2024: According to a media report, the Punjab School Education Department (SED) is thinking of extending winter break in view of the extreme cold wave affecting the entire state. The information indicates that the Punjab government is thinking of adding a week to the winter break.
It is important to note that the Punjab government had originally said that universities and schools would have winter breaks from December 18 to December 31, 2023, with regular sessions returning on January 1, 2023. The province has been hit by a strong cold wave over the past week, though, and the government is now second-guessing its choice.

The Punjabi government is probably going to extend winter vacations all around the province if this cold spell continues. Parents have also pushed for an extension of the winter vacation, citing timetable changes made by some private schools, to the provincial authorities.
