Punjab Govt decides to build Dubai like modern city north of Lahore

LAHORE on Friday Chief Minister of Punjab (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar has given green signal for the execution of the (RRFUD) project to beautify the area. However, according to details, the Punjab government will provide an ordinance for the establishment of project authority. Under this multi-billion plan, a modern city like Dubai. It will construct on over one lac acres in the north of Lahore. An investment of Rs5,000 billion expected from the private sector in this regard. So, The new city will focus on the construction of tall buildings.

The project, spreading over 44,817 acres and running along the River in a northeast-southwest direction, will set a new center of the City in the districts of Lahore and Sheikhupura. As per the original plan, the new City would developed on both sides of the riverbank along a 33-kilometer long stretch adjoining to Lahore district’s northern and western boundaries.

However, The government is also considering a proposal to sell over 25,000 acres of riverfront to investors for business and cultural activities.
