Students at Punjab College in Lahore staged protests in response to a student’s rape, calling for immediate justice. The students mentioned threats from the college administration and demanded accountability in additional rape incidents.

Outside Campus 10, students from a number of other universities also demonstrated. The protest seeks to hold the college administration responsible for its response to the incident and to demand justice for a victim of a recent alleged attack.

The demonstration follows a startling event in which a security guard allegedly sexually assaulted a first-year student. After being locked in the college basement during a break, which resulted in the alleged assault, the student is presently in the hospital.

A special team was established to look into the matter when unsubstantiated reports surfaced, and the accused has been arrested for allegedly raping a student, according to Deputy Inspector General (Operations) Faisal Karman. The Punjab government’s “zero-tolerance” stance for violent crime is in line with the Punjab College administration’s cooperation with the inquiry, according to police.

However, the management is accused by protesters of putting the school’s image ahead of student safety and openness, which has led to a great deal of community discontent. It is anticipated that supporters and students would come together to express their calls for accountability and justice in this grave issue.

This demonstration brings to light persistent worries about campus safety and the requirement that situations of this nature be handled openly in educational settings.
