Terrorist Attack on Karachi Police Chief: In addition to hearing explosions before the gunfire, unidentified armed men opened fire at the Karachi Police Chief’s office, situated on the city’s main thoroughfare, Shahrah-e-Faisal.

Details indicate that during counter-operations by police and Rangers, at least two terrorists have been killed, and four government employees have been hurt.

Three civilians were also killed in the attack, while at least one police officer suffered martyrdom.

A volunteer with the Edhi Foundation has been hurt and is now at the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center.

The attackers reportedly entered the four-story building after throwing hand grenades from the police headquarters’ backyard.

Irfan Baloch, DIG South, has meanwhile told the media that there were at least six terrorists present inside the KPO structure. Additionally, the police were working with the rangers to assassinate or apprehend the terrorists as soon as possible.

To fend off the attackers, large contingents of police and Rangers arrived at the headquarters. However, it is unknown how many attackers there were and where they were located.

Residents of the area have since posted videos of the incident on Twitter.
