Vada Pav Ranks Among World Best Sandwiches: Mumbai’s well-known street dish is called ada Pav. It has just been assured a place on the list of the greatest sandwiches in the world.

Vada pav was ranked 19th out of the best sandwiches for March 2024 on Taste Atlas, a well-known website that offers culinary and travel guides. Other highly regarded sandwiches include shawarma, Reubens, and lobster rolls.
The top spot on the list goes to the delicious Vietnamese dish called banh mi.

According to Taste Atlas, Ashok Vaidya, a street vendor, is credited with creating the famous street dish vada pav. In order to satisfy the famished workers, he devised a cuisine that would be convenient to carry, reasonably priced, and simple to make.

The popularity of vada pav has grown over the years, and it has become a staple food for Mumbaikars. The dish comprises a soft, fluffy bread roll called pav stuffed with a deep-fried potato patty called vada and served with a variety of chutneys and spices. Its unique blend of flavors and textures has won the hearts of many food lovers, both in India and abroad.
