Family
Naseebo Lal was born into a nomadic family from the Indian state of Rajasthan. Soon after India was partitioned, the gypsy-sounding tribe fled to Pakistan. Naseebo Lal, who has always longed to sing, sang at weddings and family events throughout her youth.
Her brothers Shahid and Tabedar Lal and sisters Sheena and Farah Lal are currently engaged in the music industry. Naseebo Lal has also collaborated with his brother Shahid on an album.
Lal grew up singing Madam Noor Jehan\’s songs, but she never considered performing on stage or television, especially because it was against her family\’s custom. As she grew in popularity, her family gradually encouraged her to pursue singing as a career.
Career
She first learned to sing from her mother, one of the family\’s many gifted artists. She went on to receive more training from Ustaad Lal Khan. Taboo, the tabla maestro who composed the iconic song \’Sun Ve Balori Akh Walia\’ from the film Anwara [1970], was her industry Ustaad.
Producer Sarvar signed Naseebo Lal for his Punjabi film Desan Da Raja [1999], which gave her her first break.
She recorded three successful songs for the film: \’Jinda Yaar Juda Ho Jaye,\’ \’Bukkal De Vich Chor,\’ and \’Kundi Na Kharka.\’ These songs are still quite popular among the general public.
Aside from Pakistan, Naseebo Lal has put on some fantastic shows worldwide. Nargis, Nisar Butt, Shabnam Chaudhry, Zubin Shah, and Nadia Ali have all performed on stage.
Naseebo Lal performed a one-of-a-kind concert at Birmingham\’s Drum Theatre in 2012. This concert by a vocalist who has been on more than 100 CDs was well receive by fans of traditional Pakistani folk and Lollywood music.
When performing, Naseebo Lal is frequently clad in a saree and enjoys entertaining her audiences with light dances. Naseebo Lal still believes she hasn\’t arrived at her musical destination. A good artist, she believes, never stops learning as long as their Riyaz is maintained (music practice).
Recently, the famous singer sang the official anthem of PSL 6, after which she gained more popularity and was even criticized.
