Punjab Announces Bike Scheme : Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has finally given the go-ahead for the introduction of electric bikes for students in Punjab in phases.

In a Lahore meeting, the provincial government came up with a plan to provide citizens with interest-free loans for over 20,000 motorbikes, both fuel and electric.
Nawaz Sharif, the former prime minister, was also present at the meeting. The province’s student transportation infrastructure upgrades were the topic of discussion at the meeting.
During the conference, the introduction of hybrid bus services for students was also discussed.
The total number of motorcycles
The pupils will receive 20,000 bikes in total from the province government, consisting of 19,000 gas bikes and 1,000 e-bikes.

The Bank of Punjab (BOP) and the Punjab government have cooperated to distribute bikes. The monthly payment amounts for petrol and e-bikes are fixed at Rs. 5,000 and Rs. 10,000, respectively.
