Javed Latif sexist comments for Bushra Bibi: Javed Latif, a “senior leader” in the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), made sexist remarks about Bushra Bibi, the wife of PTI Chairman Imran Khan and a former first lady.
He stated, “The 72-year-old youngster is alleging that my 75-year-old wife was alone in the residence in Zaman Park,” with obvious allusion to Khan and his wife. The sacredness of the four walls and the chaadar have been breached. He continued, “Should she be surround by 4000 or 5000 armed people for him to consider her safe if she were alone in the presence of 200 terrorists?”
His remarks drew criticism on Twitter, where many users denounced the politician’s statement and criticized him harshly.

وفاقی وزیر میاں جاویدلطیف pic.twitter.com/o3MfUfSUVa

In a statement, Aurat March Karachi tweeted a quote from the video. The feminist group said, “We strongly reject such sexist remarks towards Bushra Bibi by a government spokesperson.” Political parties’ normalization of sexist attacks on women by rival groupings is revolting.
The official statement continued, “That this statement is coming from the party of Maryam Nawaz. Who herself continues to be a victim of sexist slurs, is all the more concerning.
“We demand that the government and all political parties end this misogynistic custom that discriminates against women based on their gender. The government and election commission should take stern punitive action in response to such behavior.
We strongly condemn such sexist remarks against Bushra Bibi by a government representative. It is disgusting that political parties have normalised sexist attacks on women from opponent groups. That this statement is coming from the party of Maryam Nawaz, who herself remains a.. https://t.co/nAdByipieg
