History

In December 1948, Pakistan\’s newly evolved government established the National Anthem Committee (NAC). Its goal was to discover Pakistan\’s official national anthem. I was give the assignment of writing music and lyrics for this.

شاد باد منزل مراد

The first lyric roughly translates to \”under the citadel religion, the sacred of Pakistan may remain blessed and expand freely.\”
