PCB launches First-Ever PSL-Style League For Women

PSL-Style League For Women: The Pakistan Cricket Board announced the nation\’s first franchise cricket league for women on Thursday to provide female players more chances to advance and thrive.

The inaugural Pakistan Junior League (PJL) will occur in Rawalpindi from March 3 to March 18, 2023, in conjunction with the eighth Pakistan Super League season (PSL).

PSL 8 will feature several matches, with the conclusion the day before the grand final. The eighth PSL season\’s scheduled dates are February 9 through March 19.

Four franchises will participate in the 13-match league for the PJL championship, each having 12 domestic and six international players.

First-ever women\’s franchise cricket league

During the series\’ announcement and discussion, PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja stated,

The Pakistani women\’s league in the PSL mould is something I\’m excited to announce. This competition will aid in the future development of our current players\’ abilities and entice young female cricketers into this fantastic sport by allowing them to share dugouts with international players.

The league will include pioneering female cricketers from the past and present. This competition aims to enhance Pakistan\’s culture of cricket play across all formats and genders.

Through this competition, we create not only appealing brands to increase our cricket sector\’s economy but also provide professional opportunities for our female cricketers.

He stated that female cricket players would get more knowledge as they engage in more nerve-wracking competitions.

The Pakistan Cricket Board upped central contracts for its 20 female players earlier this season.
