WhatsApp Gets Gets View Once Feature for Voice Messages: WhatsApp is now testing its “View Once” feature for audio messages, which gives users an additional degree of anonymity. This feature, which is presently being tested in beta for iOS and Android users, comes after the release of “View Once” for images and videos in 2021. Users of WhatsApp can now send voice messages marked as “View Once,” providing improved privacy controls, thanks to this update. The voice note will automatically vanish after the receiver hears it, prohibiting any further exporting, forwarding, saving, or recording of the audio. When sending sensitive information over voice chats, such credit card numbers to a buddy or surprise plans, this capability comes very handy.
In order to maintain consistency with the “View Once” option for photographs and videos, the “View Once” voice messages are identified with a “one-time” icon. It’s important to note that you can only play these voice messages once.
WhatsApp is committed to protecting user privacy, which is why all private messages—including voice messages—are end-to-end encrypted by default. The launch of “View Once” for voice communications is evidence of WhatsApp’s continuous innovation and customer privacy priority.
